Looking for a Kidney…for a Friend

Here is a copy of the letter Brown was good enough to let us send to members of the Class of 1973.

We are writing to you on behalf of a member of our Class at Brown, Suzanne Nolan ’73. You might remember Suzanne as co-captain of the women’s ice-hockey team, the Pandas, from 1971-1973 and our class graduation speaker.  Some thirty years ago, Suzanne recovered from acute leukemia.  Now, unfortunately, she is in need of a kidney, preferably from a live donor, and is on the National Registry.  We are asking if you would help spread the word–you never know who might be a mtach or might have an inclination to donate to Suzanne or another person in need.

Potential donors need only give a brief medical history, followed by a simple blood draw in their home city to determine whether there is a “match.”  All inquiries are strictly confidential and do not commit the potential donor to actual donation.  (An actual donor’s medical costs are usually covered.)

Potential donors are asked to call Yale New Haven Transplant Referral Line, 866 925 3897.

Suzanne is currenlty Director of Spiritual Care at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford, CT. More information on Suzanne is available at www.nolansuzanne.com.

Please help us spread the word by forwarding this email to friends and posting on your social media.  Thanks so much!

Ever true,

Mary Hutchings (“Hutch”) Reed and Brown friends of Suzanne Nolan
