Happy New Year! In December, the first chapter of my novel-in-progress was awarded Silver in the Off Campus Writers’ Workshop “Finest Five” contest. In fact, this first chapter is only three pages. The novel, Markers, raises the issue of whether one wants to know if they have a fatal disease, and whether their future partner has a right to know. Thank you to OCWW, Chicagoland’s premiere writers’ workshop. Their weekly Thursday morning workshops are now also available on zoom, making it convenient to attend. Almost all sessions are relevant to all forms of writing and have proven helpful to me. In person, it is nice to be in the company of so many creative people!
